The manual’s preparation sequence starts with 10 ml and its technical range is 10–20 ml; begin at the low end unless the delivered instructions and visible level require more. The manual describes turning the disconnected unit upside down to remove an overfill. Avoid creating the problem: measure first, keep the exterior dry and never invert a hot or powered machine. Step 6: Set smoke flow deliberately

Turn the flow-control valve toward a conservative starting position and watch the float in the vertical flow meter. Increase flow only enough to fill the approved circuit and make a leak visible. Record the float position if you plan to compare a before/after repair result. A high flow reading can reflect an open boundary or poor adapter seal; a low reading can reflect a small sealed volume, restriction, kink or nearly closed valve.

The manual says internal protection stops operation at 75°C. If the protection indicator appears or smoke stops, switch smoke mode off and let the unit cool; do not bypass the protection, repeatedly cycle a hot unit or add oil while hot.
