What OBD2SCAN stores
OBD2SCAN stores the account details you submit, public Community questions and answers, private Garage and maintenance records, article comments, reactions and security logs needed to operate the site.
Public and private data
Community display names, questions and answers are public. Email addresses, Garage records and maintenance records are not published. Do not include VINs, addresses, phone numbers or other unnecessary identifiers in public posts.
Security and moderation
IP addresses, timestamps and technical request data may be processed for login security, abuse prevention and moderation. Cookies and local browser storage keep sessions, preferences and saved article actions working.
External services
The Community uses local classic search. wpForo AI and its external AI service are disabled. The main article search is operated by the site’s local Typesense service.
Retention and choices
Public contributions may be retained to preserve useful discussion and moderation history. Account holders can request account deletion or ask about their data through the site contact page. Legal or security obligations may require limited records to be retained.
