BMW F18 blower controls light up but there is no cabin airflow

The climate-control panel operates and scan data shows the requested blower percentage changing, but there is no airflow at any speed. The relevant HVAC fault memory is empty. The cabin filter is not blocked, and the blower does not run during an actuator test.
Before replacing the blower or final-stage controller, which loaded checks best separate motor failure, power or ground loss, and a missing control signal on this platform?
Use the wiring diagram for the installed HVAC version and test at the blower or controller while it is commanded on. Verify B+ and ground with the circuit loaded; an open-strand cable or heated connector can show battery voltage on an unloaded meter. Then check the control or LIN signal with the specified tool and compare the requested state with any available actual-current data.
Inspect the connector for heat and the housing for water entry. If power, ground and command are present, a current-ramp or direct component test performed according to service information can separate a dead motor from its controller. A blower that starts when the housing is tapped points toward worn motor internals, but still document the electrical checks.
Power stayed at 12.2 V under command, ground drop was 0.08 V and the control signal was present. The blower started briefly when the housing was tapped and then stopped at the same rotor position.
