A 2018 Accord received rear pads with the electronic parking brake placed in maintenance mode. After assembly, the switch flashes and a right-actuator circuit code is present. The piston moved freely and the left side completes its function test. The right connector was disconnected during service.
What checks should come before replacing the actuator?

Verify the right connector is fully seated, inspect terminal position and test power, ground and command at the actuator during the guided exit from maintenance mode. Compare current with the left side; an open circuit creates no ramp, while a mechanically stalled actuator produces high current. Confirm the caliper and pad hardware are correctly assembled before commanding movement.
Use the scan-tool service function rather than applying random power. The repair timing makes a disturbed connector or pin a likely first check.

One right-actuator terminal had pushed back when the connector was reinstalled. Reseating the terminal restored a current ramp matching the left side. The maintenance-mode exit completed and the parking brake held evenly on the incline test.
