What do you record during an A/C recovery and charge-by-weight service?

Final vent temperature alone does not show whether the system contained the correct charge or how much oil left with recovery. We are revising the A/C worksheet for leak and performance jobs.
Which weights, temperatures and operating conditions make the result repeatable?

Record refrigerant identity, recovered mass, oil removed by the machine, vacuum level and hold duration, specified charge, actual charged mass and scale verification. For performance, record ambient temperature and humidity, engine speed, blower and recirculation settings, vent temperature, low and high pressures, fan operation and center-vent condition.
Oil quantity must follow the component and recovery procedure; do not automatically add the amount a machine claims without checking how it measures. A post-service leak inspection should be separate from the vacuum hold.

The new sheet revealed one system had recovered only 310 g against a 520 g specification. After repairing the confirmed leak and charging 520 g by scale, pressures and vent temperature matched the documented ambient conditions. The result was much stronger than “blows cold.”
