Wipers continue for several cycles after the switch command goes to Off

A 2016 Golf has intermittent wipers that keep running for three to ten cycles after the stalk is moved to Off. Scan data shows the steering-column command changing immediately, but the wiper motor park status remains inactive. Power and ground at the motor are stable and there are no LIN communication codes.
Would the park input inside the motor be the primary suspect, or can the body controller create the same data pattern?
Scope the LIN line and motor current while watching the commanded state and park feedback. If the controller sends an Off or Park command but the motor never reports or reaches park, inspect the motor connector, linkage load and internal park circuit. A body controller cannot infer park if the motor feedback is missing.
Check for water intrusion because it can affect the park electronics before total communication fails. If LIN messages remain present in both directions but park status is implausible, the motor assembly or its local connection is supported.
Water marks were found inside the motor connector and the park-feedback terminal had green corrosion. The linkage moved freely. Repairing the connector and replacing the affected motor restored immediate park response, with command and feedback changing together.
