Cold-Start Rough Running with P0300–P0306 (RX 450h Bulletin Pattern)

A standardized, source-scoped problem pattern: rough initial running after cold soak and/or specified misfire DTCs on applicable RX 450h vehicles.

Overview

This is a standardized problem pattern distilled from one OEM bulletin, not a universal explanation for every misfire. The entry condition is rough running on initial start-up after a cold soak and/or one or more DTCs from P0300 through P0306 on an applicable 2010–2017 Lexus RX 450h.

The bulletin requires normal misfire diagnosis first. Only when the mechanical engine, engine-control, ignition and fuel-supply checks reveal no concern does it direct a visual inspection of the fuel-injector tips. If the entry conditions or debris finding are absent, the bulletin does not apply and diagnosis must continue with the appropriate repair information.

Do not infer drive safety from the code alone. Confirm current engine behavior and warning indicators, and use qualified service support when the engine runs severely rough, loses power, flashes the MIL, or presents another safety concern.

Diagnostic Summary

Confirm the bulletin scope and cold-start/code evidence; perform the applicable misfire diagnosis; only if the listed systems show no concern, inspect injector tips for debris. A non-matching result exits this bulletin path.

Exclusion Notes
Not a general P0302 parts-replacement rule. The bulletin explicitly requires normal diagnosis and a positive injector-tip debris inspection before its replacement path.
